How to get to Northern Cyprus?

There are only 2 ways to get to Northern Cyprus: by air or by sea.

A visa to Northern Cyprus is not required.

BY AIR

There is one operating airport in Northern Cyprus – Ercan International Airport. On July 20, 2023, a renovated, large airport was opened. It is 25 km from the capital Nicosia, 35 km from the city of Kyrenia and 50 km from Famagusta.

The modern, spacious terminal will be able to accommodate up to 10 million passengers per year.

All types of airliners, including wide-body ones, will be able to land on the reconstructed landing strip. The new airport expects to receive not only flights from Turkey, but also planes from other countries. However, now all planes must make an intermediate landing at one of the Turkish airports before landing in Ercan.

At the moment, you can fly direct flights to Northern Cyprus from more than 7 major Turkish cities: Istanbul, Antalya, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, etc.

Usually the transfer is short, and the flight itself does not take much time. For example, from Antalya to Northern Cyprus the flight will be only 35-40 minutes. The flight from Istanbul to Cyprus is 1.15, and from Ankara – 1 hour.

You can view tickets from the following airlines:

Pegasus and Turkish Airlines (AnadoluJet low cost subsidiary airline),

Fly Cyprus Airlines is the local airline of Northern Cyprus with flights to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bodrum and Orda.

You can also fly through Greek Cyprus airports.

There are 2 airports on the south side of the island: Larnaca and Paphos.
In order to fly to Southern Cyprus, you need a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa or pro-visa. Also, with a single-entry visa of category “C” you need to enter directly from the Schengen zone.

Larnaca is closest to Northern Cyprus. About an hour by car to the border. No additional documents are required to cross the border. There are no stamps in the passport.

Pasaportta damga yok.
